About the event
Guest Speaker: Cecilia Maloney - Small Business Liaison Officer for Marathon Health
Topic: Mental Health in the Workplace, with a focus on getting back to work!
Support to Skills (S2S) NewAccess program aims to provide mental health support to apprentices, trainees and small businesses who host them. The S2S NewAccess program is a pilot program funded by the Department of Social Services Try, Test Learn Fund. The overall aims of the program are:
- To provide young people aged 16-25 engaged in apprenticeships and traineeships with early intervention mental health support via the NewAccess model, which is a Beyond Blue initiative.
- The program will also support small businesses hosting apprentices or trainees to work on strategies to establish mentally healthy workplaces.
- It is hoped that the program will improve the completion rates of apprenticeships and traineeships in the target areas of Bathurst/Orange, Dubbo and Canberra.
- The program is a partnership with Marathon Health, Skillset and Beyond Blue.
